For over 30 years Sally Crum has been an archaeologist in the Southwest working for the National Park Service, the Bureau of Land Management, private contractors, and is recently retired from the U.S. Forest Service. In addition to Race to the Moonrise, she has authored its sequel Race to the River, the Ancient Journey Continues; People of the Red Earth: American Indians of Colorado; and The Night the Stars Fell, a story of the Leonid Meteor Shower of 1833. She lives in Western Colorado and Southeast Arizona.
